Jai Ho ! Genius A R Rahman, Slumdog Millionaire Wins At Oscar Awards

Jai Ho !

Genius A R Rahman wins Oscar Award for the Best Original Soundtrack for Slumdog Millionaire and for Best Original Soundtrack – Jai Ho for the same movie.

Slumdog Millionaire has swept Oscars with awards in almost all categories it was nominated including Best Picture, Best Director for Danny Boyle, Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Cinematography, Best Sound Mixing etc.

It was great to see Rahman’s speech of choosing love over hate. Simple message. Universal message. The feeling of seeing Jai Ho and O Saaya being played live at Oscars was really special.

Time to Celebrate  Rahman and Danny Boyle’s Slumdog Millionaire. This British Movie has done India proud !

All TV Channels in India are Euphoric. All People are Euphoric. Let us celebrate !

    Hi

I am proud that the movie has won 8 Oscars. However, personally there are much better movies than slumDog. Had this movie been made by an Indian director then it wouldn’t have received that much international acclaim.

Its good to begin. I would love to see an Indian film winning the Oscar. Lagaan had just made it but hard luck. Had Lagaan been associated with a Hollywood director it would have definitely it would have won an Oscar

A movie is not just about content anymore. It is a combination of contact, distribution, marketing and context. Slumdog is a British movie made by American funds and utilizing Indian talent.

I agree it is not an extraordinary movie in the league of Citizen Kane, Gandhi, Life Is Beautiful or Anand etc. But life is like that. India had more beautiful women than Aishwarya Rai and Sushmita Sen but we needed Ms Universe titles to prove it. India had genius like Dhirubhai Ambani and Bajajs and Birlas and talented people, but one Narayan Murthy, Premji and Laxmi Mittal put India on global business map.

One thing is sure. A R Rahman deserved it. Danny Boyle deserved it. Maybe, A R Rahman had scored more beautiful music earlier but he deserved an Oscar. Same for Danny.

Danny had the guts to pick up an book, understand the sensibilities of an alien land and come up with such a marvelous movie. We cannot deny his contribution !

Let us enjoy the success !

    Jai Ho !
