Crazxy Movie Review

Crazxy: A One-Man Psychological Thriller That Keeps You on Edge

Crazxy is a gripping psychological drama with a bold, original storyline — powered by a tour de force performance from Sohum Shah, the genius behind Ship of Theseus and Tumbbad! Full credit to him for pushing boundaries and delivering a thriller that’s truly different.

Dr. Abhimanyu Sood’s world collapses when his daughter is kidnapped, setting off a race against time that reveals his deeply flawed character. The film’s tension builds brilliantly through persistent phone calls , Amitabh Bachchan ringtones, and a pulsating background score that never lets you catch your breath.

The film’s standout scene? Dr. Sood multitasking in a high-stress moment – simultaneously guiding a junior colleague through emergency surgery while directing the kidnapper to calm his daughter, all while fixing a punctured tire! Shah’s performance here perfectly captures a man barely holding it together. Totally chaotic, nerve-wracking, and absolutely brilliant.

Speaking of performances, Shah carries the entire film on his shoulders with incredible intensity, making you feel every bit of his frustration and desperation. Special shoutouts to the legends like Tinnu Anand and Piyush Mishra that keep the momentum going. (And yes, the fold phone  and the Range Rover  totally deserve their own credits!)

Though occasionally losing momentum, “Crazxy” remains largely unpredictable and edgy throughout. While a few additional characters or plot twists might have enhanced the experience, Shah’s commitment to the solo-protagonist approach delivers a unique thriller experience.

Crazxy Watch it for a raw, edgy thriller that dares to be different!

Adolescence Review: An Impeccable Masterpiece – Mandatory Watch!

Adolescence is a gripping top notch layered roller coaster dealing with the highly relevant themes of adulting, impact of influencers, teenage insecurities, social media indoctrination, deep misogyny, and parenting challenges in modern world! A catastrophic, horrific and moving experience!

Just watch it! Every parent, every educator and every teenager should watch it!

Spoilers ahead, if you continue to read!

Adolescence is about how an incident changes the lives of a family. A 13 year young boy is accused of a murder and arrested from his home. The four episodes cover different perspectives – first episode is a police procedural dealing with arrest in the police station, the second episode showcases the behaviour of teens in contemporary device loaded school, the third episode is the closed door hard hitting interaction of psychologist with the accused and the final episode is the impact on family and life after the event in the home and town.

The show is a masterclass – the amazing idea of a single shot take for the entire episode creates a great impact – like watching live theatrical purpose! Episode 3 will remain one of the finest one hour of television in recent times! Class!

The amazing prowess of actors is on full showcase – how the intelligent posh psychiatrist Erin Doherty engages the accused, uncovers the truth and processes her emotions – just out of this world. The way Stephen Graham as father deals with the situation is exemplary – straddling shock, concern, anger and regret!  His facial emotions say what words cannot ever say – when the child is stripped – pure genius at work. And the debutant 15-year-old Owen Cooper as the central character slays it – from a pant-wetting boy to smart

Adolescence is the best of television for you!

“I should’ve done better”

I do not think any closing lines have created such a thought-provoking deep impact in recent times as these ones in the Adolescence! Totally Devastating!

(Casablanca, Gone With The Wind and Silence Of The Lambs are my all-time favourites for beautiful ending one liners!)

Do you like me?

Do you think I am ugly?

Are we safe in our homes?

The mental repercussion of thoughts like these emerge in a Netflix redeeming spectacular show!

And more questions emerge!

How can we do a good parenting job?

Barzakh Review: Visually Stunning & Refreshingly Artistic Mystical

Barzakh Review: Visually Stunning & Refreshingly Artistic Mystical

Barzakh means a place in-between. The stage between death and resurrection. The kingdom between paradise and hell. Barzakh series is stuck between perfection and promise!

Barzakh is an ambitious web series of love, longing and loss from across the border. Beautifully composed on a canvas, awesomely shot in beautiful locales and an outstanding ensemble cast with superlative performances – Barzakh is wonderfully designed.

A super wealth patriarch Jafar invites his estranged sons for his third marriage to his first love Mahtab. It is just that Mahtab is dead, and Jafar believes she will meet him on the other side. His two sons have a difficult relationship with him while the villagers demand access to atrium of his palatial ‘Land Of Nowhere’ house.

Strained family ties, postpartum depression, challenges of caregiving, parenting issues, mental health, toxic patriarchy – all topics are showcased by rich characters. All this in the backdrop of red-draped fairies, pink souls with baggage, special girl and other supernatural themes.

Loved the Gibran Rumi type quotes, breathtaking Hunza valley, carefully crafted visuals and metaphor rich depictions. And of course, the superlative acting of the terrific trio of Fawad Khan, Sanam Saeed and Salman Shahid! The Zindagi Gulzar Hai pair is adorable.

Yet, inspite of all its positives, it fails to make an impact and achieve its true potential – perhaps it is trying to achieve too much.

Barzakh is intelligent, brave, unique and highly creative. It grows on you and will stay with you – not every series can claim that!

Watch it with loads of patience!
